Welcome to the next episode of Viking Malt’s Walkabouts!

This time, we want to present an example of a farm in Lithuania that is implementing Regenerative agriculture practices. Our supplier shares how sustainable farming methods are helping to cope with increasing weather unpredictability.

We visited Mantas in early July, when the fields looked strong and healthy. Since then, heavy and prolonged rains have hit Lithuania.

How does the situation look right now?
Not ideal conditions just before harvest. With more rain in the forecast, farmers are now waiting for a clear weather window to bring in their crops. This shows how crucial it is to be ready to harvest quickly when the time comes. Most farmers in our regions in Lithuania are planning to begin harvest of malting barley within the coming week.
